North Carolina
Last week we spent a few days in North Carolina on our way to see Oma and Opa in Germany. Papa went first and stopped in at the office, and then Mama and I arrived and we visited my Uncle Mike and Aunt Irene. Here we are on Franklin Street in Chapel Hill. I am enjoying the view from Mama's shoulders. I highly recommend the gelato at Sugarland. Yes, I have it pretty good.
I had a great time making music with my family here -- drums, rattles, tamborines, a piano -- they've got it all. Here I am jamming with Aunt Irene -- she's reading the music and I'm improvising.
Mama and Papa decided if we were going to get that close to the Atlantic in the summer, we might as well go all the way there and get in. So we headed for the coast near Wilmington.
I had a great time riding the waves in my inflatable ring. Mama and Papa had a hard time convincing me to get out. I also liked throwing rocks in the water (who doesn't?) and running around in the sand.

Hanging Out
On the Fourth of July we had a barbecue with our neighbors. I ate lots of watermelon and had a great time playing with my friends. I even got to stay up for the fireworks ("Fireworks make boom boom boom"). The next day, I wanted to go see the fireworks again.Sunday, July 06, 2008
Visiting Seattle

Make a sand castle and throw rocks in the water at the beach in Port Townsend,
Go for my very first sail boat ride,
And bond over books with my Uncle Pete.

Mt. Lassen Trip
There was a lot more snow than we were expecting, but we still found a few lower elevation trails to explore. I really enjoyed sliding around in the snow while holding Mama's hand as we took a walk around this lake. As usual, I suggested we go swimming, but Mama and Papa said no.
Mama and Papa picked out a pretty nice campsite down at a snow-free elevation, but I was a bit disappointed because I wanted to sleep on the mountain.
Finally, I got my wish, and we went up the moutain (part of the way).
