
This old mining town sits at 7,000 ft in the Owyhee mountains, surrounded by nothing but BLM land. In its heydey it had 2500 people, 400 buildings, and 250 working mines in the surrounding area. Now it's down to 12 summer residents (only 1 in winter resident), 30 or so buildings, and no mines.
