Six Years!
Happy Anniversary to Mama and Papa -- they have been married for 6 years now! Like last year, we celebrated with an ice cream cake that was reminiscent of the Ben & Jerry's cake eaten at their wedding, including the original ornaments and some sunflowers.
If you were at the Polterabend the night before Mama and Papa's wedding, you may remember that Mama had to take a test, administered by Onkel Willi, to become a Badnerin (a woman from Papa's region, Baden-Wuerttemberg) before she was allowed to marry Papa. Well, the Badisch flag has been hanging on my door for a long time now, and at some point I got to asking what it was all about, and Mama and Papa sang me the Badnerlied (sort of a like the anthem). Now I can sing it all by myself.
